This means that all thread dimensions are measured by scanning:

  • Effective diameter
  • Major diameter
  • Minor diameter
  • Pitch
  • Partial flank angles
  • Taper

 
The full range of gauges from the smallest until the largest are scanned by just one probe.The standard probes of the MasterScanner XP are also compatible.

Software and User Interface are almost identical with the Master Scanner 6025.

The measurement uncertainty of the XL 300 is excellent due to a stable granite portal construction on active pneumatic vibration insulators in combination with air bearings and the best glass-scales Heidenhain can make.
To make the operation as comfortable as possible for the metrologists the heavy gauges are positioned on a horizontal stage.
The gauges are positioned horizontally by automatic computer control relative to the vertical scanning unit. Eccentricity is automatically compensated for by the same proven Click’on method in combination with a plain ring or plug as on the XP models.

The XL 300 is a special designed portal machine,  for large gauges plain or threaded, parallel or taper
